Lisa Edelstein has been an American actress for over 20 years. She is most well-known for her role on House which airs on Fox. Born in Wayne within a conservative Jewish traditions, she moved to New York City at the age of 18 to pursue studies in theater at Tisch School of Arts. She was very active in the clubs in New York City, and made enough noise to be recognized in the press. In the meantime she became more conscious of AIDS and its devastating impacts. She used both her experience in the music industry and public recognition to create and star in a musical of her own, Positive Me. Soon after, she was hired by MTV to host Awake on the Wild Side. After it was taken off show, she started appearing in TV and films beginning in roles of a short duration but then gradually becoming an actress.
