Sheryl Underwood is an American television host, comedian and actress famous for hosting the popular daytime talk show The Talk. Sheryl was raised in Little Rock. Sheryl was raised in the midst of a challenging family. Sheryl spent a large portion of her life caring for her sister Frankie as she was a victim of polio. While growing up, she suffered a difficult relationship to her maternal grandmother. Sheryl says that at an incident, she was stabbed by her father because he was being too close with her. Sheryl joined the military after her graduation from college. The area of interest she was most interested in was comedy. She was the first woman to reach the finals in the Miller Lite Comedy Search contest. Her TV career started in 1992 with her appearance on the HBO comedy show Def Comedy Jam. Then in 2000 she starred as an host on the T.V. show Oh Drama! Since 2011, she has been acting as co-host on the talk show The Talk. Additionally, she has portrayed fictional characters in shows like Bulworth and Nikki, as well as Beauty Shop.
